Medicaid provides low-cost health insurance to people who cannot

    - Laboratory and X-ray services

    - Inpatient and outpatient hospital care

    - Emergency care

    - Family planning services

    - Nursing home care

    - Prescription drugs

    - Dental services

    -
Health screenings for children and treatment if medical
        problems are found

    - Eye care for children

Some services are free for everyone with Medicaid coverage.
    These include:
    - Emergency care

    - Family planning care

    - Pregnancy-related care

    - Preventive care for children

Additional services are free for certain people with Medicaid
coverage, such as children and pregnant women.
If you earn too much to qualify for Medicaid but can't afford to buy
health insurance, your children may qualify for the
        Children's
        Health Insurance Program (CHIP)
